0 7086 Soo 320 SW1 8-73

Soo SW1 320 patiently awaits the return of its crew from lunch after which more hard labor will be required from it to switch the heavily industrialized city of Oshkosh, Wisconsin in August, 1973. Built in 1939, and given that the normal life expectancy of a locomotive is about 15 years, Soo 320 seemed to be living on borrowed time. It was 34 years old. But, over 36 years later, in September 2009, at the ripe old age of 70 years, it not only still runs, but had just received a fresh coat of paint!
