Minolta XE-5 Notes (24)

Minolta XE-5

Japanese 35mm SLR. Introduced in 1975.

All Light Seals on the back were deteriorated and had to be replaced. Luckily these were more of the crumbling type then of the gooey type.

The Back itself had a Light Seal Strip on a rather unusual location (see red arrow).

I first thought that maybe somebody did an after-sales modification however I later saw in the XE-1 service manual that this is in fact a factory standard.

This image is intended as a reference for the more experienced camera service man. If you have no experience in camera repair please do yourself a favor and send your camera to a professional service shop. It would be a pity to lose a vintage camera in a failed repair attempt !
