Yashica Mat 124G Cleaning the Mirror (06)
Yashica Mat 124G. A Japanese 6x6 TLR.
I cleaned the Mirror without removing it from the Body.
Firts blow out the complete Mirror box while holding the camera upside down.
Then i used a lot of Q-tips and a lot of lens cleaner fluid (ROR) to clean the mirror.
First just gently dab up the dust with the wetted Q-Tips. Only use a Q-Tip for a small part of the Mirror and then throw it away. This will cost you some Q-Tips but the reward is very satisfying !
After the dust is dabbed of you can start cleaning again with wetted Q-Tips but this time gently rotating them. The Mirrors surface might be fragile so only use the lightest of lightest of pressure. Again frequently swap a used Q-Tip for a fresh one.
When the Mirror is dry again blow the Viewer Box out one more time to remove any strands left by the Q-Tips.
