Ariel

...had three teeth out last Monday, but the gingivitis is not apparent. The final week of antibiotics finishes tomorrow, I'm sure she will be pleased about that. I want to ask the vet this week if he will do a test for FCV, which may have caused it. She has been tested for FIV and FELV, which came up negative thank goodness! She has two bare patches on her forearms, one for the anaesthetic, the other for the blood tests. If her gingivitis is caused by FGS (Feline Chronic Lymphocytic Plasmacytic Gingivostomatitis) - the test is a biopsy - there is research going on at the University of Glasgow, and I will ask my vet if they want to take part with Ariel. I can apply without the vet if they cannot get involved. It all depends on the diagnosis, but she seems to have responded very well so far. Part of the treatment involves a special diet cat food, Applaws, and another one available online and in Sainsbury's. She is always a cheerful little girl, you'd never know she had any problems.Off to the vet on Tuesday, I'll know more then.
