River Thames: Greenhithe to London
Taken on 5 January 2017 and uploaded 18 December 2024.
I often used to walk from Gravesend along the bank of the River Thames to Greenhithe, then take the bus back...
By the river at Greenhithe was my favourite place for dusk and sunsets on the river, looking up river, as here. The QEII Bridge and (since demolished) Littlebrook Power Station dominate, but London is also visible, in the centre of the frame, some of its sillier bits.
The river is 215 miles or so, and a part of it flows through London: most of it doesn't ! Not a lot of people know that, it seems.
