Radar Tower

A disused radar tower near Coalhouse Fort, East Tilbury.

There is quite an array of disused/derelict military building nearby: Coalhouse Fort, originally built in the 1860s and added to over time: a minefield control tower from WW2, a smaller detached battery, etc. Directly across the River Thames is a largely similar fort, Cliffe Fort; unlike Coalhouse, which is open to the public, Cliffe is derelict, inaccessible and largely hidden, although a small part of it can be seen to the left of the tower. A third fort, Shornemead, ruined, is a few miles upriver.

This is a WW2 radar tower disguised to look like a water tower, near Coalhouse Fort.
