Swampy BUFF
Along with the VC-10's, Tristars and Globemasters temporarily based there, sharing RAF Fairford's ramps back in September 2005 were a handful of visiting US Air Force Bombers in the shape of a pair of B-1B Lancers and two B-52's plus their associated tankers.
Here, Boeing B-52H Stratofortress, 60-0048/LA sits on the ramp awaiting it's next sortie, maybe just the transit home to Louisiana or more likely a bombing exercise over one of the UK's bombing ranges.
Either way these ancient warriors still soldier on.
Just in case you were wondering what BUFF stands for .............."Big Ugly Fat F......"
