Red White and Blue

The Beachy Head Lighthouse.

Now automated like all such structures around our thousands of miles of coastline this one and the old Belle Tout are responsible for saving countless seafarers from a rocky grave along the shores here.

 

You can see how the white chalk cliffs tower above the sea and it was up on the top to the left, some 600 feet (180m) high where my vantage point was to see all the aircraft attending the AIRbourne show at Eastbourne which is just 2 miles away around the corner.
