Tester-osterone

The ultimate high!

Empire Test Pilot School's BAC (English Electric) Lightning T.5 XS422.

Taken during a low and 'dirty' flypast and in less than ideal conditions at the 'Families Day' held at the A&AEE Boscombe Down in Wiltshire on the 21st September 1985.

The main runway was under re-construction back then so they were using their shorter cross-runway. Luckily the cross-wind component was within limits and of course - she was in the capable hands of one of the Empire Test Pilots School's top instructors!

'Tester' is the radio call-sign of all ETPS aircraft

This machine is now under re-build 'to fly' at Stennis Airport, Mississippi, USA
