Tonight's Net Flicks candidate sees former Royal Air Force Avro Shackleton MR.3 WR982/J/8106M preserved at Gatwick Aviation Museum

 

Note those huge Contra-Rotating Propellers and if you look closely at the rear of that left-hand Rolls-Royce Griffon engine nacelle you'll see the rounded shape of one of the two Armstrong Siddeley Viper turbojet engines that the MR.3 had to assist when 'Shacks' operated, particularly in far-flung hot locations, where extra power was needed on take-off

 

Sister-ship WR974/K departed GAM for Bruntingthorpe several years ago when a rationalisation of airframes there was made though with Brunters now gone she was moved again to the South Wales Aviation Museum at St. Athan
