Stew pot?

The Royal Air Force 'solo' Shorts Tucano demonstration pilot Flt.Lt 'Stew' Campbell departs Shoreham Airport in ZF210 to display at the 2008 AIRbourne Airshow along the coast at Eastbourne

Behind him is the 'Listed' WWII Gunnery Training Dome, a Wartime installation and associated Nissen Huts that post-war, formed the nucleus of the 1440 Squadron Air Training Corps headquarters

When that unit moved into Shoreham-by-Sea itself, it fell into disrepair being at one time used for storage

Originally black, for most of the ensuing post-war years it was silver until sadly it was badly damaged internally by arson

To cover up the external smoke damage to the silver it was decided to paint it in that camouflaged pattern

Current plans to build 600 homes, an Ikea store and a 'Country Pub' on the land adjacent to the West of the Runway, the Airport access road is being re-routed around it to link to a new roundabout to be installed on the A27

Work is already underway and a long-standing Travellers' Camp situated behind those trees is also being relocated in this locality and at this juncture I'm not entirely sure if the Dome figures in these plans?
