Deserted

An eclectic mix in the Arizona desert 'Boneyard' during October 1996.

In the frame are three colourful ex USAF Air National Guard Convair F-106 Delta Daggers including 59-0095, 59-0115 and centre stage, a two-seater F-106B model 58-0904.

There were fifteen F-106's stored there at the time.

To their extreme left, another ex ANG machine in the shape of a camouflaged Republic F-105 'Thud' Thunderchief - one of eleven still there then.

To the right of the Thud can be seen the prop and nose of a Lockheed P-2 Neptune with the tall fin of another - BuAer.No 147952/LS6 which were there amongst several others of these ex 1950's sub-hunters.

Lastly, to the right is another ex US Navy machine but this time a rare Grumman TC-4C Academe - BuAer.No.155728 previously with VA-42. Built as the military version of the turbo-prop powered Gulfstream I, nine of which were converted for use by the Navy and Marine Corps as Grumman A-6 Intruder trainers having the nose of the latter added to their forward fuselage. Of the nine delivered - seven were in store there that day.
