Northern Flicker

The Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus) is a medium-sized bird of the woodpecker family, native to most of North America. This is a Red-Shafted Flicker with a red patch on its face and is native to the American southwest. A Yellow-Shafted Flicker has a black patch on its face and a yellow stripe on its wings. It can be found in the Eastern states.
