2014-09-08 Mave, Monasterio de Santa María de Mave, Palencia, Spain DSCN4586

It is a Romanesque church of the early transition, built between 1200 and 1208. In one of the blocks of the gable has an inscription with the date 1200, in years instead of eras.

It has three naves of three sections each, cruise not marked in plant and triple head of semicircular apses preceded by presbiterial straight section. Most striking is the presence of pointed barrel vaults perpendicular to the normal axis of the temple, both the ends of the transept and the first two sections of the south aisle.
