Vijay Stambh
A Vijay Stambh (Victory Pillar) commemorating the victory of Maratha Kingdom over the forces of British East India Company during the First Anglo-Maratha War (1779 CE). Arguably it was the only victory of a native Indian power over the British in India, whereby the British had to surrender and sign a treaty. This pillar is located off NH-4, Malinagar, Wadgaon (Vadgaon) Maval, near the town of Pune, India. The victory pillar marks the place whereby the British were forced to sign a treaty with the victorious Marathas
