Saturday just gone I headed down to Albert Road in Portsmouth which has a varied and vibrant night time economy. It was a bit of an experience as the area was busy but that was what I had wanted.

 

I had a few ideas in my mind too of portraits I wanted to achieve and I ticked a couple of those off.

 

I had three backgrounds with about 150 meters of each other and flitted between them if one got quiet or I needed a change of scenery.

 

This side road was between a pub and a late night shop and I noticed Mj standing outside the shop with some of her friends and with her cap and board she fitted in perfectly with the urban environment.

 

I explained the project and Mj without hesitation agreed to take part. I liked this portrait orientation showing her style with the board.

 

Mj is 20 and works in retail and enjoys boarding and all that goes with it, along with an interest in the arts.

 

Mj was patient while i took a number of shots and her friends waited patiently.
