MiniTravelBag1
The four blocks of the Mini Travel Bag: They are about eight inches square. After they were crocheted, I cut two pieces of strong cardboard (the stuff Amazon uses when they ship books is good) to fit just inside these dimensions (about 7 1/2 inches). I covered the cardboard with cotton batting (Warm&Natural is a good choice).
The Inside (the striped block) is then crocheted to the outside (the flower block) around three sides, and the cardboard inserted and then the fourth side is crocheted closed. I crocheted another two rounds of single crochet around three sides (side, bottom, side) and fastened off.
Then, I joined yarn at the bottom of one of the pieces and crocheted a bottom section for sixteen rows, or wide enough to accommodate the doll. I crocheted a separate piece the same size, cut another piece of cardboard to fit inside this (not padded this time) and sewed the
separate piece to the floor piece with the cardboard sandwiched in between. Then you sew the other half of the travel bag to the bottom. I finished with a couple more rows of single crochet around the entire outside, then crocheted the handles on the top.
The bag closes with a small magnetic catch.
This isn't exactly a pattern, but guideline so you can make your own :-)
