Hawker Siddeley Nimrod R1 XW666 (801) (cn 8041) 16th May 1995, during a test flight, XW666 suffered a catastrophic fire resulting from a starter motor exploding. The crew had to ditch into the Moray Firth before the main spar failed. Thankfully all the crew escaped with their lives. www.aeroventure.org.uk
