Pipeline
It wasn't just Morpeth and Rothbury that suffered in the severe storms of September 2008. The deluge and resultant flooding also washed away a large section of Scottish and Newcastle's Scandinavian pipeline causing some two million litres of Newkie Broon to flood into the North Sea. By the time the leak was plugged it wasn't only the herring that were pickled.
