Bill Harvell shopfront sign restoration
Filling the holes cut into the Bill Harvell shop sign. (Helped by Blanco the foster mutt) They were for drain pipes, and cut in at angles, just to make repairing them trickier!
I started by cutting off the top of the sign, to help square it up. This would also be used to fill the holes. (For the bigger hole I glued two bits together)
I made paper templates, then after transferring these into the repair blocks, cut them out, mostly with a tenon saw. Then the slow job of offering them up, finding the high points, sawing/sanding them down, offering up again, and repeat for a few hours.
Happy with how it’s turned out so far.
