Color-variant morning-glory, Mar Vista/Lone Palm trails, SLO county north coast

Pale yellow. There were another 3 or 4 nearby. Just W of the upper creek crossing (rocky falls).

This one I struggled with my editing software to get the shade of pale-yellow my eye saw. Usually I can match that pretty closely. All I can say about this one is, close enough, and I quit! Highlights a bit blown. Oh, well.

Some sort of a genetic sport. I think.

Someday I'll bump into a San Simeon old-timer, like an old ranch family, and find out what they called this little creek. It's perennial, at least near the ocean, but nameless on every map I've checked. Pretty pool and even a little falls where it cuts through a rock ledge. Small laguna below and a cat-tail marsh: red-wing blackbird mecca, for you birders. They don't seem to have the chiming calls I recall from NorCal. . . .

IB all this stretch of coastal trail is now officially a part of, hrm. The California Coastal Trail?

Yup: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Coastal_Trail..

"The California Coastal Trail will not be one single pathway that connects the entire coastline. It will consist of different, and approximately parallel trails that accommodate the needs of varying visitors. Some portions of the trail will be for beach walkers, and other sections will be for bicyclists and equestrians. ...."
