Scuptural madrone driftwood.
Isn't that *wonderful*? Walk on the Mar Vista trail, south from New San Simeon. Found on the pocket beach, by that creek.
It was so windy, I almost turned back! Even with my good new REI windbreaker, ski gloves, and a Patagonia fleece vest underneath! Mid-50s. Spring on the coast!
Fortunately I was paying attention, saw this driftwood with the far-less-interesting side out, and flipped it. Wow. Keeper!
The bench is a teak semi-antique from Java, bought in Santa Fe, or maybe in their warehouse in Abiquiu. I'm thinking it was on sale, as they were closing the S. Fe store. We had it in our pretty Eldorado garden . . .
