Wall of Giant green anemones @ low tide, Hearst Beach

Big healthy ones! The lowest are at ~1 ft above the low tide line -- so only occasionally out of the water. Biggest of these are ~8 in/20 cm in diameter. It's rare to see this many on a near-vertical wall. They generally prefer tide pools. These are using small beach pebbles and coarse sand as 'sunblock' and to avoid dehydration while out of water.
