Another blueschist outcrop, this one steeply-slanted
Illustrating the complex folding and (likely) un-knowable history of this peculiar metamorphic rock. I won't repeat the link, but these are high-pressure low-temp metamorphics, by geologic stds, generally found in descending slabs such as when the Pacific Plate dove under North America, as it continues to do further north (Cascadia). Assuming memory serves!
Camera/phone held parallel to the flattish rock surface, and FOV is maybe a foot (30 cm) for long axis. Location is the same outcrop as the one with the orange lichens. My wife likes it. Well, so do I! 😻
