Isis from Macedonia, 250-150 BC

Found in Dion, Macedonia. Isis was an Egyptian goddess who became popular around the Med in the Ptolemaic period. Here she is depicted as Demeter. She holds a sheaf of wheat and a scepter with a solar disk. The Greek inscription dedicates this marble plaque to Serapis, Isis, and Anubis, all Egyptian gods. From the Dion archaeological museum, Macedonia, Greece.
