Happy Halloween
This is the extent of our Halloween Decorations this year.
This makes me look like a regular humbug when comes to this day. Maybe it does but we don't get into this Halloween stuff like we used to.
We used to decorate the house and we would sit out side and hand out candy with the neighbors and we had a great time.
Over the years the neighbor changed. Most of our friends moved away. The new people are not as friendly. We used to have kids come by from our development and they were dressed up nice and parents stood on the sidewalk and watched over their children.
Now the parents, mostly younger, come up to us with baskets looking for candy supposedly for children at home??
Older kids come up with pillow cases and no costume and want candy.
Parents from other neighborhoods would drive by and drop off a vans full of kids from who knows where, and they flood the neighborhood.
The last time we gave out candy we probably had over 300 people show up begging.
So we have lost our Halloween Spirit. Maybe when we move into a different neighbor hood things will change.
Until then we turn our porch lights out and pretend we are not at home.
Happy Halloween.
