Saving the Moment...
"Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again." ~Henri Cartier-Bresson
This morning's sunrise was breathtaking!
We had been up the coast at the beach house when there was a scheduled meet up of the Southeast Queensland Meet up Flickr group.
So being only a few minutes away from the meet at Shelly Beach, we easily made the 3am time.
The day before we had scouted the area, knowing that it was going to be dark with the lack of a moon and had already found what we hoped would be the "sweet spot" for the morning's shoot....
So while everyone else headed down around the bend near King's beach, we set up on Shelly.
The rocks were slippery with wet moss and a few times we were sure that we would slip, but eventually we got all things ready to go...now we waited for the magic.
The sun began to color sky as the clouds on the right began to drift into the shot...picking up the pinks and soon we had what we felt was the best conditions and just took shot after shot...
So many came out wonderfully.... we just could not choose....but this one, just as the sun was peaking over the horizon was our first fav and so we share it here with you...
Used Double graduated filters (hand held second filter... so need a filter stacker! lol)
Camera: Sony DSLR-A350
Exposure: 0.5
Aperture: f/16.0
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Post Production:
clarity, spot removal, added watermark signature
Enjoy!
