31/52: Lucky escape
31/52 - Don’t simply take a photograph of something that is in front of you, but instead focus on an idea that you find interesting.
I'm using this photo because wildlife photography interests me but I do not have the gear or patience required for it. This one fell into my lap though and was too good to pass up on.
This starling fledgeling had a very lucky escape today. A sparrowhawk swooped down to catch him and flew into the dustbin, with an enormous thud, stunning itself for a few seconds before flying away. The starling was stunned for a while too, long enough for me to grab my camera. He didn't hang around too long. Not the best backdrop but I had to snap away while I could.
