This is the first time Maggie has been let loose in the grass.

 

1. because it's not really grass, mostly prickly pine needles and pine cones. 2. it's been too cold. 3. she was too little.

 

I shouldn't have waited so long. She loved every minute of it and didn't seem to mind the prickles at all!

 

I forget how the first spring and summer is so new to a little one who has developed an awareness outside themselves over the winter.
