Vladivostok Film Festival 2007
During my last days in Vladivostok, I saw an unusual amount of crowd near the movie theatre next to my hotel. There was lots of music and cops and marines guarding the area. As it turned out, it was the Pacific Meridian film festival. One by one, movie stars arrived in their posh Renaults...I didn't recognise any of them, but they must be really famous.
But, an extraordinary thing happened after that! The barricades keeping people out of the area were removed just as the last of the movie stars were going inside, and naturally, everyone rushed up to get a better view. I didn't know what the hell was going on (my russian is very bad) but I saw some people going inside, and I assumed they were letting some people in to take a look. So I slipped in with them. But when I went further , I realised all of a sudden that I was not supposed to be there. However, it was too late to turn back. So, I acted as if I belonged there, and I remained uncaught!! I had a nice chat with the stars and the directors (and you know what? one of the directors told me that I looked familiar lol) the girl walking up the stairs in the picture(she must be a famous child actress, again I don't know her name!! but she had an American accent) was going around the room photographing people, and I think she took some photos of me too. so if any of you recognise her, go to her website and if she uploads the photos that she took on the site, you may even find some pics of me!
Afterwards, as we were all escourted into the main hall, I saw at least 100 flashes from the cameramen which totally blinded me, but you know, it isn't such a bad feeling! It wouldn't be surprising though, if some photos of me appeared on Russian newspapers with the title saying 'Who is he?' However, it was an experience of a lifetime!!
