Third Tier
Third of three drops that make up Falls Creek Falls in the South Washington Cascade Mountains. Clever name, don't you think? The creek is named for the falls and the falls for the creek. The top tier (60 feet) is not visible in this photo and the second tier (90 feet) only partially so. The third tier is 60 feet and makes for a total drop of about 210 feet.
Access to the falls is quite limited with no one point allowing a clear view of all three tiers. This viewpoint is the best and is actually a bit of a surprise as the falls are only visible after rounding a blind corner through a gap in the rock ramparts. The scene is quite dramatic.
