But…..I must say that last photo was so much fun to play with……….

In the springtime often a new queen will immerge from the hive,

Wild or not it is just natural to propagate and expand the species…

 

In cultivating the beekeeper can do a few things to help stop this

Stopping this, one should try to do, if not the new queen could take half of the colony with her and weakening the existing colony…

 

So…………

I keep Italian Queens, they are great in breeding they start early in the season.

I like to pack them tight for the cold harsh winters we have in the north.

Then in early spring I put in more hives in to give the queen more breeding room

And one must look for new queen cells forming……

 

To sum it up…….It’s a dance…….one must learn the steps…..

let the queen lead ,but watch her every move………
