Another iconic structure on route 66 is Lucille's, Lucille Hamons "The Mother of the Mother Road". This small gas station was operated by Lucille for almost 60 years right through the great depression years up until her death in 2000, where the gas station was left to rack and ruin.
Now bought and renovated by a local businessman and soon to be re-opened as a route 66 gift store.
