Roy's Diner
One of Route 66's many attractions is this original diner that has been brought back to life "not restored" and is once again serving gas (petrol) and light snacks to dusty weary travellers.
The service was dreadful and the food didn't look too appealing so we settled for a couple of bottles of pop.
Located on Route 66 in Amboy, a ghost town in the middle of the Mojave desert California.
The official site says the only thing still open in this ghost town is the post office, well, Roy's was open, or at least I think it was, although it might have been a ghost behind the counter going off the level of service we received. I'd swear we heard Hotel California playing on the radio as we left!
Amboy's other claim to fame is the small, dead volcanic crater far left of the frame!
