recovering from grief (in loving memory of SGH)
this is what i had been doing for the past 3 days. i'm carving this dolorosa for a very meticulous costumer which mang rey introduced me to.
last march i loss a dear friend. the head of the CCP's visual arts department. his sudden passing away made a deep void in my heart. i told mang rey that it is not my forte doing dolorosas. but i suddenly realized that it is because i am not good in greaving. but realization set in and naisip ko na why not channel my grief into this sculpture.
maybe i could create a very accurate depiction of the greaf of the blessed virgin when she (like i) loss someone so dear. her Son.
he was my mentor, a dear friend and he was the one who re-instilled in me the passion for the arts.
