The Inca at Intí Raymí Ceremony, Cusco
The Inca is carried on a litter borne by perhaps a dozen men garbed in red. Though there is no longer an Inca monarch, his part is taken for the ceremony to honour the sun. This is a re-created ceremony for the winter Solstice which was resumed in the 20th century after about 400 years of suppression.
