The Catharsis | March 2012 | Armor

Artist Statement:

I thought of armor in terms of protection and when I began to consider which places or objects best possessed the quality of protecting, I was immediately drawn to gates.

I believe that gates serve a dual purpose. Gates not only serve as a defense against the outside world, but also help protect the outside world from what lies within.

In order to further emphasize the dual purpose gates serve, I chose to capture images of gates in black and white.
