Stanley No. 45 Wood Plane

Macro Mondays "Hand Tool" submission.

 

I inherited this Stanley No. 45 Wood Plane from my father who inherited it from his father who was a carpenter. Long before the router was invented, it was used to make moldings and decorative trim for finishing carpentry and furniture.

 

While it hasn't touched a piece of wood in earnest for decades, this Stanley wood plane is a nice piece of family history.
