Ruby -vs- CaAl655

Comparison of fluorescence emission spectra of ruby (top) and synthetic phosphor CaAl655 (bottom).

 

The ruby was excited with 409nm light and the synthetic with 368nm +311nm light.

 

The images were then digitally filtered with a red filter to remove the blue noise.
