Fluorescent Paint: "Franklin Green" and "Sterling Hill Red" - UVc

FOV: 2.5" wide

Inspired by Bob Fosbury's recent trip to the Egyptian exhibit at the Munich Museum, I decided to try turning some of the fluorescent powders I'd made into paint. The powders were mixed with a bit of white glue and water and applied to a charred scap of wood. The wood was charred to increase contrast since uncharred wood is naturally flourescent.

Contains:

Willemite (FL+PHOS Green >UVc)

Calcite (FL Red >UVc)

Shown under UVc light.

Key:

WL = White light (halogen + LED)

FL = Fluoresces

PHOS = Phosporescent

UVa = 368nm (LW), UVb = 311nm (MW), UVc = 254nm (SW)

'>' = "stimulated by:", '!' = "bright", '~' = "dim"

Obtained from the basement lab.
