Synthetic Fluorescent Mineral Experiment: Baloneystonite 2 - UVc
FOV: 3" wide.
Baloneystonite phosphor (aka BaS:Cu) created using BaSO4 {3 Spn}, C {0.5 Spn}, CuCl2*2H2O {~20 grains} and NaNO3 {1 Spn} as an oxidizer. Using the sodium nitrate caused the barium sulfate to melt under the heat of the MAPP gas torch. This produced a "rock" instead of a cake.
Shown under UVc light.
Key:
WL = White light (halogen + LED)
FL = Fluoresces
PHOS = Phosphorescent
BL = 450nm,
UVa = 368nm (LW), UVb = 311nm (MW), UVc = 254nm (SW)
'>' = "stimulated by:", '!' = "bright", '~' = "dim"
