Peruvian Selenite on Halite - PHOS

From Salinas of Ocucaje in Peru comes this 5" wide specimen.

 

Contains:

Selenite (FL+PHOS Yellowish white >UVabc)

Halite (FL Reddish~ >UVc)

 

Shown in phosphorescent state after exposure to UVabc light.

 

Key:

WL = White light (halogen + LED)

FL = Fluoresces

PHOS = Phosporescent

UVa = 368nm (LW), UVb = 311nm (MW), UVc = 254nm (SW)

'>' = "stimulated by:", '!' = "bright", '~' = "dim"
