NECA Series 12 Bad Blood Predator
Bad Blood. Think of the Bad Blood Predators as serial killers of their own species. Absolute nuts with NO rules, much as the Super Predators from the film "Predators" were where even their own kind were fair game.
This particular Pred was based on his appearance in the 1994 comic by Dark Horse of the same name. It kinda shows too. There was a lot of "EXTREME!" characters back then where excess of design was symbolic of just how bad-ass they were. In this case he has THREE blades in his forearm, and body piercings and a forehead tattoo and never mind some small bones for decoration, he's wearing vertebra on his arms and legs and even a Predator skull on his shoulder. He also has no mask, because he's just THAT awesome of a killer! No plasma caster either because that's too easy. Bad-asses use only knives and blades and spears and he's got THOSE in spades! Three arm knives a machete and a SPEAR cause that's how HE rolls! Blades only, like Wolverine because it's bad-ass!
The figure itself is mostly just the City Hunter with retooling done to attach the new bone decorations and new jewelry including what appears to be a nipple piercing and even an eyebrow ridge piercing...you'll note that mine has no eyebrow piercing as it came off within seconds of being removed from the package, lol. He also comes with the aforementioned retooled forearm blades that are retractable with three blades. There's a machete and a spear, both of which can be stored in a loop on his back attached to the new right shoulder armor add-on, though, only one at a time. I usually store the machete there myself. to hold them he comes with a closed right hand which can be swapped out for a hand covered in blood that would be great for holding a disc if he came with one. He has a disc weapon holder on his leg and even though he uses one in the comics he doesn't come with one here. Shame really as I don't think any of the other Pred has one with an appropriate color match to use here. Unfortunately he does not come with a left hand for holding the machete as he does almost exclusively in the comics. In the comics he usually duel wields the machete in his left hand and the blades of his right forearm for the other so why they left that out and included a right hand for a disc he doesn't come with is odd. He comes with some nice trophy skulls but adding them to his belt string is a bit tough as there's not a ton of room to slip one skull under the string to hang at his side. Would have been better if they had a hook much like the OTHER two trophies, the severed faces of two humans. I say faces because the backs of their heads are cut clean off. Very cool. Paint on this figure is basically comic inspired with very hard colors, The armor is paint washed in a way to bring out line detailing like very stark comic book coloring, not to say this won't fit in with your collection, it will, though maybe more in the Kenner Tribute spectrum rather than say the Lost Clan figures.
Over all this is a really decent figure with some issues here and there. Main problems are the piercing on his eyebrow. Expect that to come off and try not to lose it so you can find a better way to secure it...or do like I am, ditch it, go to a local art supply store and by some gold tone jump rings and replace it with one of them.
