The Greatest Great Horned Owl
Many of my friends know about my never-ending quest to find an owl, I just never guessed I would have to go to the beach to see one! On our 3rd day at Dauphin, my friend Gail and I were photographing a beautiful Green Heron at the Audubon park. Some birders walked up and started a conversation - we talked about the birds we had seen and I said it would have been perfect if only I had photographed an Owl. They laughed and said, "you want an owl? How about 2?!" and told us where we could find the Great Horned Owl baby and his mom. Gail and I practically ran down the path and you wouldn't believe our excitement when this little guy was still on the same branch!
We took over 200 pictures each - I was soooo thankful to be borrowing the 200-400 Nikkor plus 1.4 teleconverter - he was over 60 ft. high. He was such a beauty and totally made the trip for me!
Several more pictures of him plus one of mom (or dad?) in the comments. Happy Tuesday all!
