Cyclone R-3350

Exhibit in the engine hall a the RAF Museum at Cosford. The Curtiss Wright R-3350 Duplex Cyclone air cooled radial engine with 18 cylinders. 2200-3700bhp dependant upon variant. The first engine ran in May 1937, but slow development meant it didn't fly until 1941.

This version is a 2700bhp model from 1947. Primary use in the Boeing B-29/Washington and the Lockheed P-2 Neptune.
