The "Golden Gates" from the cathedral in Suzdal (Russia)

by petrus.agricola

The cathedral of "The nativity of the Virgin Mary" in the Kremlin of Suzdal houses two famous "gilded bronze" doors with scenes from the Old Testament (Southern door) and scenes from the life of Virgin Mary and the New Testament (Western door) from about 1235.
Until now they are nearly unknown outside of Russia.
It was rather laborious to gather a complete set of the scenes and to identify them all. But at the end I succeeded. Please look yourself !
