Porus enthroned holding his sword upright, speaks to Alexander (still in disguise), he carries a sack over his shoulder and holds his horse by the reins.

 

Two 6-line decorated initials: ‘M(ontes)’ in blue and red on gold ground and ‘A(lixand[re])’ in red and white on gold ground; three smaller decorated initials, all with heads.

 

Top margin, a bird is shot through by an ape grotesque, a rabbit runs the other way.

 

Lower margin:

The relationship between Porus and Alexander.

Left, branch has stag lying down looking back at grumpy lion sitting up.

Right, branch has old man riding on a donkey with lively dogs snapping at him from front and back.
