Passive House - The Harbour Building II
(Swedish: Hamnhuset) Energy-efficient passive housing with a quarter of the heating requirement of a normal apartment building. Passive housing has no radiators or other active forms of heating. Passive housing requires so little heating that solar heating through the windows and surplus heat from people and electric appliances etc., is sufficient to maintain a comfortable temperature indoors. An efficient heat exchanger is used to warm fresh outside air using air that is extracted from the building.
Solar collectors on the roof give energy for part of the warm tap water.
115 dwellings, built 2008. Architect: White arkitekter.
