Ava Farm & Oak
The oak in the yard was already recognized by botanist Carl Linnaeus in his journey arond Gotland in 1741 (after ennoblement Carl von Linné, 1707-1778). Linnaeus wrote: "We refreshed ourselves in the scorching heat under a large oak tree that stood in the yard. The oak was one of the most significant, because its stock was 7 yards around." With modern measurement it means that the stem diameter was 4.15 meters. Today it is 6.25 meters. The oak became a protected natural monument in 1911.
