Hunting & Fishing Cabin
The cabin was built either for King Karl IX (1550-1611) or King Karl XI (1655-1697). It was probably used for hunting birds as the upper story has openings from all directions from which guns could be aimed. It was also probably used for storing fishing gear. In 1929 the cabin was moved from Kummel island on lake Vänern to the present city park Mariebergsskogen in Karlstad.
